CSS Designer

Orchid Suites is seeking an experienced Interface Developer to join our rapidly growing team. Professional experience with design-centered development, css1 and css2 essential. Experience with server-side scripting is a plus.

Solid Standards Compliant XHTML (transitional 1.0) and CSS skills.
Cut up and creation of tableless web page templates using supplied designs.
Ability to work with both tabled and tableless designs
Maintenance and content population for existing sites
No Wysiwyg editing
Awareness of usability and disability compliance issues
Strong testing matrix and attention to detail
Ability to QA own and other' work for code validity, spelling, layout consistency of look
Testing existing and developing sites against a variety of browsers, versions and platforms
Testing static content as well as content management tools prior to launch per a pre-prescribed checklist
Regular testing and regression testing of tools developed by the programming department
Ability to work as part of a team
Attend regularly scheduled meetings
Coordinate workload with other staff members and other departments
Able to meet tight deadlines with little supervision
Attention to detail
Independent worker that also works well in teams
Good grasp of progressive industry best practices and W3C Standards
Ability to deal with compressed schedules
Ability to pick up existing projects / requirements
Experience with Photoshop, ImageReady, or Fireworks to cut images from completed designs
Proven track-record of strong design principles and adherence to complex design specifications throughout the development life cycle
Experience in testing across multiple browsers and platforms to ensure conformance to requirements
Experience with Visual Source Safe, CVS or SVN
Experience in developing accessible websites (Section 508, W3C WAI Guidelines, etc.)
Experience in developing sites that are easily crawlable, indexable and retrievable by industry leading search engines (Yahoo!, Google, MSN)
